LUGANO

Our next stop was Lugano,
Switzerland. Lugano is a beautiful city surrounded by mountains except
for a large lake. The picture to the right is of us having lunch on top
of Mt. Bre. You can see part of Lugano by looking past our shoulders. |
| Our first
night in Lugano we discovered that a Brazilian church (right) was
having a service in a conference room of our hotel. They invited us to
attend the service. The young lady to the left in the picture below
(Patricia) was the first person we met and she is the one who invited
us to the service. The other lady (Maya) directed the singing and interpreted for us. She is 17 years old and speaks 6 languages! |

| Since we were flying out of
Zurich we spent one day touring Lake Zurich. That evening we visited
our good friends Jorg and Irene
Waldvogel. We met Jorg, who is a retired mathematics professor at ETH,
at the University of South Florida while on professional leave. Since
that time our friendship has grown and we make it a point to visit them
whenever we are in Europe. This particular evening was our twentieth
anniversary and Irene prepared an excellent dinner for us. My Home Page |
