Textbook: Required: Stewart: "Calculus, Early Transcendentals" (7th edition). You will NOT need any of the online material that can come with the book (and raise the price even more than it already is).

Here is a very approximate schedule of when we will be covering what. None of this is set in stone yet.

Homework and Quizzes
Homework problems will be posted here. Homework will be assigned but NOT graded. So why should you do the homework? Because there will be a quiz every Friday, and the quiz problems will be either exactly from the homework or exactly from the example problems in the book.

We will have a quiz every week, except possibly for the weeks we have exams. The quizzes will be at the end of class on Fridays (about 15 minutes) and will cover the sections that that week's homework covered. No makeup quizzes will be given, but the lowest quiz grade will be dropped.

Exams
There will be three in-class exams, on the dates posted below. (Dates will also be announced in class.) The final exam is Monday, May 5 from 8:00 to 9:55 in a room to be announced.

  • Exam 1: Friday, February 14th. Here is a practice exam you can use to begin studying.

  • Exam 2: Wednesday, March 19th. Here is a practice exam I made. Note the test will be on the sections we covered between 7.7 and 11.4.

  • Exam 3: Friday, April 25th. The exam will cover 11.5-11.11 and 10.1 and 10.2. One problem straight out of the homework for 10.1 and 10.2 will be on the exam. Here is a review sheet for the exam.

  • Final Exam: Monday, May 5, 8AM-9:55AM in Olin 121. Here is a practice exam you can use.
