Fractint
is a free program for viewing and generating fractals.
It is written for DOS, and
Unix ports exist.
Xaos
is a free Unix program for viewing the
Mandelbröt
set and certain other escape time fractals, as well as the
corresponding Julia sets.
Using the buttons on your mouse, you can zoom
smoothly (or not so smoothly, depending
on the speed of your machine) into each set.
Type 'H' for help, and 'Q' to quit.

For an interactive demonstration of graphical
analysis, enable Java on your browser and
click where it says "1-D iteration".
Or generate fractals by clicking where it says "IFSoft".
Or play the Chaos Game by clicking on "Leap Fractal".
