EMAIL SERVICES

Location:        Ayer Hall, 3rd Floor Computer Lab 305

Hours of Operation:        
Thurdsay Sept 14 and Friday Sept 15:    8:00am to 11:00pm
Saturday Sept 16 and Sunday Sept 17:    9:00am to 5:00pm

Service Instructions:
The lab machines are running Windows NT 4.0. You will receive an account ID at the conference registration check-in desk.  
To log on to the lab machines press ctrl+alt+del and type your acount ID and password that were provided.
The computers will have two ways to access external e-mail:
After you log on there will be an SSH/Telnet icon and a Netscape Communicator icon on the desktop.

  1. An SSH/Telnet client will be provided for remote access to off campus computers.
  2.  Netscape Communicator has a built in mail client that can be configured for remote e-mail.
It is recommended that you familiarize yourself with your universities remote mail configuration along with either SSH, Telnet, or Netscape Mail client before arriving.

Downloading Files From Remote Computers:
FTP to the remote machine and download to a floppy.
